AgentBank vs Stripe for AI agent payments
Stripe gives an AI agent access to your Stripe account so it can manage customers, invoices, subscriptions, payment links and refunds, and helps businesses accept payments from agents. AgentBank is crypto banking services for AI agents: it lets an agent collect, move and pay its owner's money in the real world, to bank accounts in the recipient's local currency, within a spending limit and approval threshold the owner sets.

| How an agent connects | MCP server, remote at https://mcp.useagentbank.com over OAuth or local via npx -y agent-bank-mcp@latest; the agentbank-pay skill; Partner API for platforms. | MCP server at https://mcp.stripe.com over OAuth or an agent API key; agent plugin and skills via the Stripe CLI. |
| Who owns the account | A human owner. Agents act within the owner's spending limit and approval threshold. | A Stripe business account. The agent acts with the permissions granted through OAuth or the agent key. |

When Stripe is the better fit
- You already run your business on Stripe and want an agent to manage customers, invoices, subscriptions, refunds and reporting there.
- You sell products or services and want agents to discover and pay you through Stripe's agentic commerce tools via cards.
- You need card acceptance and billing at scale rather than outbound payments to individuals' bank accounts.
When AgentBank is the better fit
- Your agent has to pay a real person or business by bank transfer or QR in their own currency, not charge a card.
- You want a personal or business owner to give an assistant like ChatGPT or Claude a bounded amount of money to spend, with approvals above a threshold.
- You hold stablecoins and need them delivered as local currency to a bank account, or need to collect locally and hold the result. See Pay a bank account from an agent.
The two can work together: a business can bill customers through Stripe and use AgentBank for agent-initiated payouts abroad.
