Connect your AI agent to real-world money

AgentBank is an MCP server that lets your agent collect money, hold it, convert it, and send it to bank accounts in local currency, within the spending limits and approvals its human owner sets. Connect a hosted assistant over OAuth, run the local server with one npx command, or load the skill file.

Remote MCP over OAuth

Point the host at the endpoint. It discovers the protected-resource metadata and sends the account owner through browser sign-in. An unauthenticated POST to the root URL returns 401 with the same connection guide in the body.

MCP endpoint: https://mcp.useagentbank.com
Resource metadata: https://mcp.useagentbank.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource

Hosted connections expose balance, spending limit, payment, account reference and tracking tools, and render approval and progress cards in ChatGPT and Claude. Guides: Connect ChatGPT and Connect Claude.

Local MCP for coding agents

The local server stores a credential on the device and can execute the current payment instruction through the owner's bound wallet. Onboarding returns a browser URL for the owner to approve; agents do not create accounts on their own. Per-client steps for Claude Desktop, Cursor, OpenClaw and Hermes are in Connect your agent.

What the agent can do

  • Check who it is and what it may do: whoami, verification status, scopes.
  • Collect: create a one-time collection with bank or QR instructions a payer can follow, and check whether it was paid. Money in
  • Convert: compare costs and convert between supported currencies and crypto assets. Exchange
  • Send: pay a saved or new bank, QR or wallet recipient in local currency, fund the payment, and track it to a final state. Money out
  • Recover: find the next safe step for an interrupted, expired or failed payment. Recover a payment
  • Pay x402 services: settle HTTP 402 challenges after the owner reviews the service, amount and payee.

The complete tool list is in the MCP tool reference. Mutating tools use stable request IDs for idempotency.

Controls the owner sets

Every payment needs the owner's explicit confirmation of recipient, amounts, fees and expiry before it is created. An approval threshold decides when it also needs an extra approval step. On hosted connections, a spending limit bounds the crypto funding the owner can choose to use for a confirmed payment. KYC determines eligibility for fiat routes. The owner can disconnect an agent at any time. Build so the agent always shows recipient, amounts and fees before asking for confirmation.

Test without real funds

Staging uses mock tokens and a staging on-ramp that completes automatically. Use it to exercise onboarding, quotes, payments and tracking end to end before production.

Frequently asked questions

Does my agent need its own wallet or keys?
No. Authorization binds the owner's Privy wallet to the connection. Wallet tools return public information and balances and never expose a private key or seed phrase.
Can I use plain HTTP instead of MCP?
The MCP server is the authority for onboarding, quotes, payments, recipients, tracking and recovery. Do not construct protocol requests by hand. Platforms embedding payments for their own end users use the Partner API instead; see the platforms page.
What is the difference between remote and local MCP?
Remote MCP runs on AgentBank's host and authenticates the owner over OAuth; it is for hosted assistants. Local MCP runs on the device as a stdio server with a stored credential; it is for coding agents and desktop clients.
